SoFi Stadium to host first high school football game: Warren vs. Downey, Oct. 13

Tickets for the game will go on sale on September 28 at 10 a.m. at $35 for general admission.

SoFi Stadium will host its first high school football game this fall between Warren (4-1) and Downey (3-2) on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.

The event is put on by the LA Bowl and is branding the game “LA Bowl Friday Night Lights”.

Tickets will be on sale starting Thursday, September 28 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com. General admission tickets are $35.

There were rumblings that Mater Dei and St. John Bosco were going to play at SoFi Stadium – home of the LA Rams and Chargers – last fall, but negotiations fell through due to Mater Dei not wanting to give up its home game at the Santa Ana Bowl.

Ironically, this unprecedented game at SoFi is the same night Mater Dei plays St. John Bosco this season. That game is in Bellflower.

Downey versus Warren is one of the most anticipated rivalry games of the year. Last year, Warren won the Gateway League matchup 49-22. However, Downey went on to win the CIF Southern Section Division 4 championship.
