Norwalk junior Kendall Nakano is SBLive's Southern California Athlete of the Week (April 3-8)

Two-sport standout registers multi-hit games three times and drills two of her 11 home runs before racking up more than 18,000 votes to win prestigious award

Kendall Nakano has had a remarkably consistent and productive junior season.

The Norwalk standout put it all together last week by going 10 for 11 with three doubles, two triples, two home runs and eight RBI in three victories for the Lancers (14-5).

The productive week put Nakano on SBLive's weekly performance list, which then thrust her into more big numbers.

The two-sport star — Nakano also plays volleyball — racked up a remarkable 18,230 votes (54.1 percent) to win the SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week award for games from April 3-8, presented by Jersey Mike's Subs.

For the season, Nakano is hitting a robust .56 with 40 hits in 61 at-bats with 31 runs and 36 RBI.
