Union High School senior Tanner Toolson was named 2020's 'Mr. Basketball' honoring the state's top player across all classifications, the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Association announced Monday.

Toolson averaged more than 23 points per game in a breakout senior season for the Titans (24-0), who are the top seed entering the 4A state playoffs. The 6-foot-5, 185 pound guard/forward was the 4A Greater St. Helens League MVP.

He has not yet committed to a college, but has fielded interest from myriad Division I schools throughout his senior season.

Mount Si's Jabe Mullins, Saint Mary's commit, was named 4A Player of the Year, Cincinnati commit Tari Eason of Garfield was named 3A Player of the Year, Burlington-Edison's Wyatt Walker nabbed 2A POY honors and La Center's Hunter Ecklund, who became the program's all-time leading scorer Saturday, was named 1A Player of the Year.

AJ Floyd of Davenport is the player of the year for 2B and Lummi's Caleb Revey is for 1B.

WIBCA is made up of high school boys basketball varsity coaches from across the state of Washington at across all classifications who vote on POY awards each year. Former longtime Chelan coach Joe Harris is the current president.
