Anton Watson has dominated the high school basketball scene in Washington over the last two years.

Now, he's one step closer to showing out on the world stage.

Watson, a Gonzaga Prep grad and Gonzaga University commit, was included as a finalist for the USA Men's U19 World Cup basketball roster released Tuesday.

Watson survived the first round of cuts after making the first pool of 31 players from around the country last month. The team participated in five practice sessions over three days to determine the roster.

A 12-man team will be announced before the team heads to Greece for the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, which is June 29-July 7, according to a press release.

After leading Gonzaga Prep to its second consecutive 4A state title, Watson was named all-classification state player of the year by The Associated Press, and Mr. Basketball by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association.

Watson averaged 20.8 points per game during his senior season for the Bullpups.
