Shiloh Christian's foray into Class 6A football is highlighted by a conference opener against defending Class 6A state champion Greenwood.

The Saints, who have lost to Little Rock Parkview in the past two Class 5A state championship games, are moving to Class 6A thanks to the Arkansas Activities Association's 'Competitive Equity Factor.'

The school released its 2024 football schedule Wednesday and many have now circled Sept. 27 on their calendars. That is the night Shiloh Christian will host the defending state champion Bulldogs in its inaugural 6A-West Conference game.

That will be one of the biggest games in the state that night and could include the two favorites to win that league title even though the tradition-rich Saints will be in their first season of 6A.

Greenwood didn't lose a game this season on its way to the title and returns a multitude of standouts on both sides of the ball.

Shiloh Christian opens the season with longtime foe Farmington. The Cardinals knocked off the Saints in 5A-West play last season, ending Shiloh Christian's 40-game  conference winning streak.

Like they did this season, the Saints travel to Little Rock to play Little Rock Christian. Shiloh Christian beat the Class 6A runner-ups in west Little Rock. The Warriors are also moving up next season and are playing in the rugged 7A-Central.

One other notable conference game brings Fort Smith Southside to Springdale. The Mavericks have long been a 7A program but with LRCA and Pulaski Academy moving up, Southside moves down.
