Booneville beats Prescott: Arkansas high school football Class 3A state final recap
The Booneville Bearcats (13-2) held on to beat the Prescott Curley Wolves in the Class 3A state championship game Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium.
Booneville took a 6-0 lead with 9:10 to play in the first quarter and held that lead for the entire game on its way to a 25-22 win in front of 6,465 fans on a sunny December afternoon.
Booneville running back Dax Goff took MVP honors as he ran 31 times for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns. Goff also added five tackles on defense.
Booneville racked up 359 yards of offense with no passing yards on just two attempts. The Bearcats controlled the time of possession with 31:32 minutes compared to Prescott's 16:28,
JahNoah Harris led Presccott with 13 carries for 88 yards and a TD. The Curley Wolves only managed 220 yards of offense.
