Mike Volarvich out at Nashville after 9 seasons

Volarvich has led the Scrappers since 2015

One of the state's most prestigious gridiron programs is on the hunt for a new head football coach.

Mike Volarvich, who has held the position for the previous nine seasons, is no longer leading the Scrappers.

Volarvich compiled an 86-27 record, including an undefeated 4A state championship run during his first year with the team in 2015. Nashville finished in the quarterfinals from 2018-20 and made it all the way to the semifinals in 2022 before falling to eventual state champion Malvern.

This season, Nashville earned the 4A-7's No. 3 playoff seed but lost a 59-50 shootout at Central Arkansas Christian in the second round of the playoffs to finish 8-4.

Prior to his time at Nashville, Volarvich was the offensive coordinator at Henderson State University, where he orchestrated one of the most potent offenses in Division II football. The California native has also served as offensive coordinator at multiple junior colleges.
