Arkansas 8-Man high school football report (Week 5)

The top performances from Week 4, plus rankings and this week's games in Arkansas prep 8-man football

As hard as it is to believe, the midway point of the season is here. One undefeated team remains in the club division, and there are two unbeaten squads in the sanctioned ranks. 

See who put on the best performances from Week 4, along with updated rankings from each division and all of the games for Week 5 below.

TOP PERFORMERS 

Coleman Bozeman, Midland

The senior collected 13 total tackles, eight solo, as well as forced a fumble and recovered it in Midland's 60-20 loss to Izard County Consolidated. 

Garrett Buchanan, Izard County Consolidated

Buchanan led the Cougars with 10 total tackles, four solo, in ICC's 60-20 win over Midland.

Wyatt Buchanan, Izard County Consolidated

The junior completed 12-of-14 passes for 258 yards and seven touchdowns, along with 93 yards rushing and a score, in ICC's 60-20 win over Midland.

Porter Burton, Izard County Consolidated

Burton hauled in three passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns in ICC's 60-20 win over Midland.

Hayden Cox, Corning

The junior led the Bobcats with 11 total tackles, four solo, in Corning's 56-14 win over Marshall. Cox also rushed five times for 60 yards and three touchdowns. 

Jacob Cox, Corning

The junior hauled in three catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 71 yards and another two scores and collected six tackles in Corning's 56-14 win over Marshall.

Danquez Crayton, Strong

The sophomore caught three passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns in Strong's 44-8 win over Dermott.

Adonis Delaney, Mountain Pine

The senior rushed 11 times for 137 yards and three touchdowns in Mountain Pine's 64-28 win over Marvell-Elaine. 

Graham Douglas, Genoa Central

The junior led the Dragons with 19 total tackles in Genoa's 44-22 win over Parkers Chapel.

Jackson Duncan, Cutter-Morning Star

The junior hauled in four passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in Cutter's 60-26 loss to Subiaco Academy.

Anthony Gehrig, Subiaco Academy

The senior rushed 20 times for 201 yards and four touchdowns in Subiaco's 68-26 win over Cutter-Morning Star. Gehrig also collected six tackles and nipped two interceptions, while averaging 41.2 yards per kickoff. 

Mitchell Hicks, Brinkley

The senior compiled 287 yards of offense (160 passing, 127 rushing) and four total touchdowns in Brinkley's 40-30 loss to Spring Hill.

Hayden Jennings, Rose Bud

The junior rushed eight times for 95 yards and a touchdown in Rose Bud's 48-22 loss to Cedar Ridge.

Aiden Jones, Cedar Ridge 

The junior rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns in Cedar Ridge's 48-22 win over Rose Bud.

Josh Kirkland, Genoa Central

The senior collected 13 tackles in Genoa's 44-22 win over Parkers Chapel.

Brody Koch, Subiaco Academy

The senior was unstoppable in Subiaco's 68-26 win over Cutter-Morning Star, rushing for 362 yards and four touchdowns on 30 carries. Koch also led the Trojans with 15 tackles, three for loss, with a sack and blocked a punt. 

Coby Lamon, Genoa Central

The senior hauled in two passes for 55 yard and a touchdown in Genoa's 44-22 win over Parkers Chapel.

Isaiah Mahone, Cutter-Morning Star

The senior hauled in seven catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns in Cutter's 60-26 loss to Subiaco Academy.

Xander McCandlis, Izard County Consolidated

The junior collected nine total tackles, four solo, and forced a fumble in ICC's 60-20 win over Midland.

Caleb McClure, Genoa Central

The senior rushed 21 times for 194 yards and four touchdowns in Genoa's 44-22 win over Parkers Chapel.

Zane Minton, Spring Hill

The senior rushed for 111 of the Bears' 428 yards in Spring Hill's 40-30 win over Brinkley. 

Jamarion Mitchell, Strong

The junior collected 10 total tackles, including 2.5 sacks, in Strong's 44-8 win over Dermott.

Germyren McHenry, Strong

The junior rushed 13 times for 109 yards and three touchdowns in Strong's 44-8 win over Dermott. 

Kaiden McHenry, Strong

The junior completed 9-of-10 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns, along with 72 yards on the ground, in Strong's 44-8 win over Dermott.

Jace McNeil, Cedar Ridge 

The junior rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns in Cedar Ridge's 48-22 win over Rose Bud.

Peyton Mills, Cutter-Morning Star

The junior completed 21-of-34 passes for 374 yards and three scores in Cutter's 60-26 loss to Subiaco Academy. 

Riley Mudford, Genoa Central

The junior caught two passes for 68 yards and a touchdown in Genoa's 44-22 win over Parkers Chapel.

Brayden Reedy, Rose Bud

The senior hauled in four passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in Rose Bud's 48-22 loss to Cedar Ridge. Reedy also collected 3.5 tackles and deflected a pass. 

Antonio Rookard, Mountain Pine

The sophomore rushed 11 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns in Mountain Pine's 64-28 win over Marvell-Elaine, along with compiling three tackles, including a sack. 

Chad Russell, Mountain View

The senior caught four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown in Mountain View's 26-0 win over Fountain Lake.

Drew Shelton, Mountain View

The senior completed 7-of-9 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns, along with 90 yards and another score on the ground, in Mountain View's 26-0 win over Fountain Lake. Shelton also collected five tackles and nipped an interception on defense. 

Seth Smith, Corning

The junior completed 5-of-9 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns in Corning's 56-14 win over Marshall.

Gabe Spray, Izard County Consolidated

Spray hauled in six catches for 165 yards and four touchdowns in ICC's 60-20 win over Midland.

Rush Sullivan, Mountain View

The junior collected 13 total tackles in Mountain View's 26-0 win over Fountain Lake.

Moose Tinkle, Mountain View

The senior collected 12 total tackles in Mountain View's 26-0 win over Fountain Lake.

Jacob Walpole, Mountain Pine

Walpole led the Red Devils with seven total tackles, two for loss with a sack, in Mountain Pine's 64-28 win over Marvell-Elaine.

Jonah Wilburn, Mountain Pine

The senior rushed 11 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns in Mountain Pine's 64-28 win over Marvell-Elaine, along with completing a 21 yard pass. Wilburn also collected four tackles on defense, one for loss. 

Chris Williams, Brinkley

The sophomore caught two passes, both resulting in touchdowns, for 82 yards in Brinkley's 40-30 loss to Spring Hill.

Hunter Williford, Midland

The sophomore 10 total tackles (5 solo) in Midland's 60-20 loss to Izard County Consolidated.

Maverick Woods, Mountain View

The senior led the 'Jackets with 17 total tackles and also recovered a fumble in Mountain View's 26-0 win over Fountain Lake.

Zyon Wyatt, Mountain Pine

The junior rushed 11 times for 109 yards and a touchdown in Mountain Pine's 64-28 win over Marvell-Elaine.

SCORES AND RANKINGS

Sanctioned Division Rankings 

1. Rector (3-0)

The Cougars were on a bye. They host defending sanctioned state champion Izard County Consolidated on Friday.

2. Spring Hill (4-1)

Talk about a rebound for the Bears who won their fourth straight game in shootout with Brinkley. Five different running backs combined for 430 yards on the ground against the Tigers.

3. Strong (3-0)

Defense was impressive and offense was lights out for the Bulldogs in their dominating win over Dermott. Strong compiled 400 yards of offense and held the Rams to just eight points.

4. Woodlawn (2-1)

The Bears were on a bye. They travel to Strong on Friday for the SBLive 8-Man Game of the Week. 

5. Brinkley (2-1)

Brinkley battled, but was not able to match the rushing attack of Spring Hill in a 10-point loss. 

(Izard County, Mountain Pine)

Club Division Rankings

1. Mountain View (4-0)

There is not much the 'Jackets have not accomplished in the 8-Man ranks, but they did pitch their first shut out against Fountain Lake, allowing just 178 yards. 

2. Subiaco Academy (4-1)

The Trojans did whatever they wanted to on the ground against visiting Cutter-Morning Star, rushing for an eye-popping 646 yards and nine touchdowns. 

3. Genoa Central (2-1)

The Dragon offense put together its most impressive performance thus far in a 22-point victory over Parkers Chapel. 

4. Corning (3-2)

The Bobcats responded about as well as you could ask from a loss and scored over 50 points for the second time this season. It was also the first time Corning has scored 50+ points in multiple games during the 21st century.

5. Cutter Morning Star (2-2)

Coming off of a tough loss, the Eagles have already won a couple of games, but now comes the task of rebounding against Marshall on Friday and then get a win streak going.
