Alabama high school football schedule for Week 5 of 2023 season (9/21 & 9/22)
Week 5 of the 2023 Alabama high school football season kicks off on Thursday this week and continues Friday with a packed slate of big games.
The action gets underway with 11 games on Thursday night, including a battle between unbeaten teams in Class 2A.
Vincent and B.B. Comer are both 4-0 to start the season, but something has to give when the two meet in Sylacauga at 7 p.m. Central time.
Whichever team wins will secure the top spot in the Class 2A Region 4 standings.
As usual, Friday will be the biggest day of the week with more than 150 games on the schedule, one of which could be the best matchup of the week.
The unbeaten Baker Hornets will put their perfect record on the line against Daphne (3-1) when they host the Trojans in a Class 7A Region 1 battle Friday night.
In order to stay undefeated, the Hornets will need to figure out how to slow down a Daphne offense that is averaging more than 52 points over its last two games.
For the Trojans, Friday's matchup could be a chance to get a little revenge on a Baker team that erased a 24-7 deficit to escape with a thrilling 35-31 victory when the two met two seasons ago.
